Description

Right now I call it Ryzen Rainbow, This is my second ever build, and a massive upgrade over the Intel i5-4650 and Asus GeForce GTX 750ti that I had in my very first build. I feel like this one is note worthy. I felt like I worked hard enough that I deserved to treat myself for my Christmas present even though its a few months late.

Everything went over fairly smoothing aside from the stock CPU cooler bumming out on me after its first boot. That okay though because I had a CoolerMaster Air G100M that I was originally going to use in this lying around. I think a few more weekends of overtime will warrant a AIO. Even though they're a little more expensive, but I think it would do the Ryzen 7 2700x a little better. That being said, the G100M idles at 36-42 degrees Celcius. and about 50-55 under load.

I haven't gotten into the depths of this RTX 2060, but with 4 more GB of VRAM then my 750ti. I'm fairly certain its way more then capable. Besides it came with a free game (I choose Anthem) I'm not going to complain about it. Truthfully I can't wait to test it out.

Part Reviews

Memory

G.Skill Trident Z RGB 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3200 CL16 Memory

RAM, Its fast. This one just happens to be very easy on the eyes too.

Storage

Western Digital Blue 500 GB M.2-2280 SATA Solid State Drive

This thing is a beast. Windows 10 boots in less then 20 seconds.

Storage

Seagate BarraCuda 2 TB 3.5" 7200 RPM Internal Hard Drive

Storage is storage. Seagate is good at what they do. Originally I wanted to try their new Firecuda's. However, they were priced a lot higher. So this 2TB 7200RPM may not be incredibly fast but it gets the job done.

Video Card

Gigabyte GAMING OC GeForce RTX 2060 6 GB Video Card

A significant step up from the GTX 750ti I was using. Everything I've thrown at is so far has just been clock work to it. Gigabyte has to be putting out some of the best GPU's at the moment, especially compared to their EVGA or Asus counter parts. and for slightly cheaper too.

Case

Phanteks Eclipse P400 ATX Mid Tower Case

This case is pretty sleek, well put together. Along with the tempered glass side panel. It looks nice with all RGB I have on this build. Cable management is nice to. I did have to give it just 4 stars only because it can get a little crowded in the back just with the amount of cables it already comes with. Other then that. I really like this model.

Power Supply

EVGA SuperNOVA 750 G3 750 W 80+ Gold Certified Fully Modular ATX Power Supply

Power supply. Not really much more I can say to that. EVGA makes good products, so I cant really do much complaining. It handles what I need it too. The price isn't terrible either.

Case Fan

Thermaltake Riing Plus TT 48.34 CFM 120 mm Fans 5-Pack

These fans are nice. Keep temps in the case down, and look good doing it. I was actually surprised with how much air these things can pull. The only down side is the Program they run off is "meh." That and they can be a little loud if you have them running at 100% the entire time. So that's the only reason I subtracted a star.

Hey I got almost the same setup w 2700x and rtx 2060.. Do you do any video editing? Gpu error crashing my davinchi resolve.. Not sure if the rtx 2060 is a good choice for editing Games run smooth.. Cpu runs great even w stock cooler

Sadly, no I don't video edit, this is purely a gaming rig. I cant tell you much in that regard. I did a little googling on the subject and it isn't really mentioned but from the sound of it, for Video editing you might something with a little more power. The card game wise is an absolute beast though. Sorry I can't tell you much.

Thank you anyways. Enjoy your new build. Which liquid cooler are you getting ? Why mess with liquid if noctua air yields even better results without the risk of leaks. Does looks ugly though.. Am ok with my stock cooler at 4.1 Ghz for now..

Of course, sorry I couldn't help much. and as far as coolers go, I'm stuck between a NZXT Kraken X52 and a Corsair H100i. I'm hoping an AIO will get the Idle temp down to at least 35 degrees Celcius and about 50 at idle. Well, thats the idea anyways. Most of my rig is air cooled anyways. The Thermaltake fans push and pull a lot more air then I thought they would. I haven't really looked into Noctua, I know they're a great brand. Aesthetically though, I think the NZXT or the Corsair would just make the build cleaner overall. After all it is something I have to look at everyday lol so yeah it just comes down to cleanliness and the fact that I like the idea behind AIO's.

that's a nice build over here, I just ordered the same CPU, Mobo and PSU lol. Did you connect the 2 8-pin connectors on the motherboard or you're just using one?

I did both, but in reality, you only need one to power the CPU, the other is just for XOC.

yeah, that's what I learned too. I'm planning on OCing to 4.2GHz, I think I'll use both. What are your thoughs?

If that's what you're thinking, then go for it man. The CPU is a beast and should be able to maintain that fairly easily. Just make sure to get a good CPU cooler to keep the temps down and you should be alright.

I've already purchase the Dark Rock PRO for this, I think he'll be good enough for the 2700X

Can you change the rgb on the rtx 2060? I have the same card but with an asrock b450 steel legend and i cant do it using their software
