Hello there this is a build I came up with that I think you might be very happy with for both gaming and video editing. 2 free games, usb 3.0, 1TB, ssd, gaming keyboard, laser mouse, and if you change your mind someday you could overclock both the gpu and cpu. http://pcpartpicker.com/p/1KXix

It just depend how much the Steambox happens to be. If it's 400-500$ you should buy another PC like this one which is compact, more powerful, and can run another OS like Ubuntu which kicks ***. If it is 300$ or less on the other hand a Steambox would be the way to go in my opinion.

Hopefully someone will correct me if i'm wrong but I believe the graphics processing will need be done on the end of your HTPC. Your current PC will just stream the game content.

Well until Steam's announcement today I had been planning on running Ubuntu Linux but now I will probably run SteamOS alone!

The card is big but fits in my mid size case no problem. With the driver I had no issues either just installed them and everything worked well. I couldn't recommend this card more. I have it stock still because I can max every game out at 1440p. Once you get to know W8 it works like a dream too.

Hey there the card is actually pretty quite. Almost silent while idle. And the performance is great. I can play all the games I've tried like BF3/ Planetside 2/ Shogun 2 on high/ultra settings at 1440p

The case and fans that come with it are of good quality, especially for the relatively low price point. I didn’t come across one problem with it the entire build. It is esthetically pleasing as well.
