it is correct. I did realize quickly why it was so cheap when i got it. EVGA sent me a recall notice on the card around January of last year because the card was prone to igniting when under high load situations.

it runs hot, and it it is not for overclocking. i would go with a B360 motherboard, or a higher-end MOBO if you want to overclock.

UPDATE: He brought his PC back to me complaining that his system was too loud. Apparently i left his fans turning at 100% on his GPUs whilst they are water cooled.

in the same boat. my 1060 cant push 5120x1440 in most of the games i play, but i cannot get my hands on a 1080 or 1070 for a good price ATM because they keep buying all of the GPU's. it good and truly sucks, hopefully you can actually get that 1060 you're looking for though.

well, now i know why i cant get my hands on a 1080ti. and it's not that i hate you guys as people, what i hate is the fact that you guys have found a way to use gaming cards to do this and that is why i am ticked off at this. i want to be able to upgrade my system but 1300 dollars for a GPU that normally costs 725 is a tad bit ridiculous to me.

thank you to you too for the information about the 301. i will keep that power delivery (PSU and cable management) thing in mind when it comes to building in there. i still have yet to hear back on some people's thoughts on the node 202, which is the other case that i am looking at using for the build, but i think that BitWit has helped me rule that case out though. Again thank you for the information on the case and for checking out my build.

at idle I'm chillin at around 21-23 degrees depending on the core and where my heater is set in my house, usually a 20 degree ambient temp. and at load i rarely have exceeded the mid 40's but this is due to the fact that i am using the 7700t which is a 35 watt TDP chip versus the 65 watt TDP of the 7700.

but this cooler has done admirably with an 8600k running at 4.8GHz at 1.25 Volts with max temps, with the fan running at 75%, of 70 degrees.

Also how was the experience of building inside the 301, looking at using it as an HTPC in my living room to replace the Xbox one that currently sits there.

aren't you also the guy behind the 8350k account? other than that i would suggest maybe a 1050ti if you wanted to do a bit of gaming with it, but it will run all of the tasks you want it to do at this time.

they really should've put them in the region with the tubes so you could run the cables along the pump tubes and run them around the back with the fans from the radiator. it would be so much cleaner and easier to manage.

thank you, it was a pain in the rear to get all of the cables to bend the way i needed to to get then to be as clean as they are, HDMI does not like to bend, neither do AC power cables.

you're fine, there are other reasons in here but i also had to consider the possibility that this system would also be used till it dies, so the 8600k still made more sense to me than handing them a 7700T based system.
