I wonder: Do this people that do crazy expensive Pcs have a wife or something? They generally make a setup that takes a good amount of real estate that a normal woman would generally question.

Oh, and they always own cats.

On a more serious note: Is it only for gaming or do you intend to use it for professional/prosumer applications?

Comment reply on Forum Topic "Need advice to where to place radiator and fans inside Case for a brand new build."

  • 1 point

The fans on the radiator: The highest Air flow possible (generally marked in mm3 H2O)

The rest: The highest CFM possible.

Brand doesn't matter, so long it's a good one.

Comment reply on Forum Topic "Noctua vs Cryorig (Case Fans)"

It's probably the fame. A lot of people know much more about Noctua and hear good about them, so they know they can't go wrong. Soem people don't even consider other brands.

Comment reply on Forum Topic "A friend with a love for gaming, and, laptops"

You weren't very nice to him. How would you feel if someone told you were wrong in this and that although you never did anything wrong?

You need to carefully explain him, show comparisons, explain the tech inside. But mostly respect him and his decisions, and praise the similarities, not fight the differences. If he though prefers to ignore you, unlucky him, ignorance is a bliss

But you're basically right, when it comes to price for performance, Desktop class rules. But we all know why laptop hardware is grind down, and some people simply are in too many places to have a desktop.

Comment reply on Forum Topic "Should I replace my case fan?"

  • 1 point

1st: They do sell

2nd: As I said, check the manual. A pc case has virtually always more than 1 mounting standoff for fans

Comment reply on Forum Topic "Need advice to where to place radiator and fans inside Case for a brand new build."

  • 2 points

That's a lot of heat you have to move

I'd reccomend:

  • 3x140mm on top as exhaust

  • Keep the 140mm on the back as exhaust

  • Radiator on the front 360mm with 3x120mm fans pulling air from the outside, and pushing into the radiator (fans are between mounting holes and the radiator

  • anywhere between 2 to 6 140mm fans as intake on the side

Comment reply on Forum Topic "Should I replace my case fan?"

  • 1 point

Just try to find the fans that the manufacter used for its case, it's always made by the same company. Or exchange the one that comes included with 4 new. Either way, you need to buy 3 more fans, I'd say. Refer to the manual and product page

Right now, no. Unless you run chrome, a game and other stuff in the background without paging, but I doubt it

Comment reply on Forum Topic "Should I replace my case fan?"

  • 1 point

Depends on your build. But if you have a decent case, the fans in it should be enough. Now if you want to add more, it depends on your hardware

Comment reply on Forum Topic "£100 Upgrade"

If you benefit from more RAM, then go for it. Otherwise, spend the 100£ on the SSD alone. Or use the other half for something else than RAM

Comment reply on Forum Topic "Case fan for £800 build"

  • 1 point

Didn't notice you had the build. It comes with a back fan only. I reccomend you get either configuration (what you have to buy), all of them should be 120mm:

  • 1 intake, 1 exhaust (3 in total: 1 intake, 2 exhaust)

  • 2 intake, 1 exhaust (4 in total: 2 intake, 2 exhaust)

  • 2 intake, 2 exhaust (5 in total: 2 intake, 3 exhaust)
