If I could go back I would probably buy a full ATX board. I was trying to save a few bucks and I regret it. The plug for my front panel audio barely reached the port on the motherboard. I broke one of the plastic SATA port connectors when I was installing the GPU. Luckily there were three others for me to use.

Bare bones board. Msi BIOS is easy to navigate. All the ports are labeled which is super handy for beginners like myself. There is talk online about the MSI b450 series needing a BIOS update to work with gen 3 AMD. I can confirm that the MAX series boards have been updated to work out of the box gen 3 (or at least a ryzen 5 3600).

Yes, I realise now that I could've gone with any MSI board with BIOS flash in order to be compatible with the GPU. However, if you're nervous or don't know much about these things (like I was), then this is still a great board! Easy to install all the parts, and looks discreet in the build.

I only have two very minor problems. The first is that I had to flash the BIOS anyways to get the system up to date, however that's not really an issue. What does bug me was that on the RAM profiles, the 'automatic' function for overclocking didn't work properly, resulting in the RAM running at factory speed (2133) for a while, until I realised I could fiddle with the settings manually.

Solid motherboard - supported all my components. 3600Mhz RAM worked easily using XMP. Overclocks decently. Very easy to use interface

3.5 stars. I chose this because it had a fairly good cost, for two fan hedders, an rgb header, 4 ram slots and a few other quality of life features. Only one big issue; software is absolute garbage. Lighting control is bad, fan control is ok but could be better and it's very brown (I was stupid and thought it was black). It works, and although it has a brown tint it actually looks ok, just beware of the software.

This motherboard saved my life :D, I was looking for a VGA outlet on motherboard, because I have a APU I don't have a graphics card and an old monitor. Well thankfully this motherboard has a VGA outlet, I just hate how RAM and cables barely fits on m.b - Easy bios - Cheap But has all the important features

Good price vs performance choice here. This is certainly a budget board. No heat sinks. A bit disappointed in the limited fan headers (only 2 + CPU). Also no onboard WiFi. But, with limited options during covid-19, this was the best fit for the job in the price range. Biggest plus for me is that it's Ryzen 3rd gen ready out of the box without needing a bios flash, which is relatively rare in this price range.

from completed build The Red Scare.

I have planned on going to a 3900x when I get the money, but I was afraid for my little a320 board. I saw this board for sub 100 dollars and bought it. The board's bios would not allow for a steady overclock so I had to use ryzen master.
