So first of all, yes we overpaid for this, we had the motherboard already and he wanted to build ASAP so he paid the extra 20 or so dollars to get it here soon. Can't wait to start overclocking, seems like a great overclocking chip.

Great CPU (if you can get one) finally a 6 core intel mainstream platform cpu it overclocks like a demon hitting 5ghz without issue and performs great for games and cpu intensive tasks

Awesome processor if you can find one at or near MSRP. Temps are much improved over Kaby Lake from what I've seen and performance is awesome. Mine sits at mid 20's C at idle and hasn't peaked higher than 50C.

Overclocks pretty good without delid.

Fantastic CPU, hard to get your hands on but once it arrives the wait is worth it. Hits 4.7 with very little OC, idles at 20C for me, max temp of 72C at 4.7ghz but usually sits around 48C while gaming/editing etc. If you're torn between Kaby Lake and this, buy this lil beastie you won't regret it.

Works great so far, overclocked it to 4.9Ghz, stable so far on a hyper 212. All I needed for gaming and basic use.

Choice between 7700K and 8600K. Either would have worked, but eventually decided to go with the newer Coffee Lake processor. OC'd to 4.8 GHz in my build.

Have been using for a couple of weeks now and it does amazing! Absolutely crushes anything and everything. Right now I have it comfortably OC'd to 4.5 GHz but I'm sure eventually I'll push it and see what it can do. So far so good though. Very pleased with my purchase.

When compared to the 7700K, this CPU is pretty amazing-- mostly in thermals, and has huge overclocking headroom! Also, this CPU scored slightly faster in Cinebench when compared to the 7700K. And it's cheaper.
