So we bought this back in Christmas of 2012. A few months after that, some 2 year olds we had over stepped on the screen and cracked it. We went to fix it, it got fixed, it's all good. Now, about a week ago, this happened. The black piece came off, and the computer is wearing down. Any ideas on how to fix it? (It's a Lenovo IdeaPad N580 that I use almost every day.)

Honestly, I don't think a you could get a lot of help in here since this is a PC builders' forum - you're better off checking with notebook forums like NotebookReview, etc. Anyway, search for it at the Almighty Google - it has your answer.

Ideally you should first learn how to take it apart, as this could only be a mechanical issue. From the picture, it looks like something came off because it was being opened abruptly or "wear & tear". If you're willing to get your hands dirty and take apart the laptop piece by piece then this manual should guide you..
