If i update my motherboard's drivers will it increase preformance if its a very old computer
I doubt it. Usually motherboard drivers are simply for compatibility with newer components and/or operating systems. Besides the real factors in a computer's performance are the CPU and GPU. Not the motherboard you can take the same CPU/GPU combo with several motherboards and the performance difference won't be more than 1% between them.
You can check your mobo manufacturer's website. Some mobo manufacturers actually state reason for update of drivers.
Sometimes updating your BIOS will improve motherboard performance in terms of CPU compatibility, but I've never heard of mobo driver updates doing much of anything beyond fixing stability issues.
