College budget = 400-600

I'm on a tight budget and I've been looking at some builds for my price range but they all seem to vary and I have no idea what I'm doing so I'd like some help please.

Games I would like to play: Minecraft at highest settings ~60fps+ (I know it's CPU intensive so maybe an i5 or better?) Any decent recent games such as Bioshock infinite at high settings, Dayz? I know this is probably a long shot for my range but maybe GTA 5 when it comes out for PC? If either of these aren't possible for my price range, minecraft at highest settings is the most important. I don't play much games, usually only the same games repetitively, I'm mostly a programmer so this is why my range is low.

I see all the ~500$ builds have a Radeon 280 so one of those would be nice (I also see a lot of variations of it so not sure which one to get).

I do not need a hard drive, I already have a 240gb SSD, I also already have 4GB of ram laying around, think I'll need more?

Thank you.

I advise you to look at other comments as well as this one, but here I have a build similar to mine, in which I can play bioshock infinite on very high settings at 50+ fps. http://pcpartpicker.com/p/vfj9nQ

I guess you could use the ram you already own if its compatible.

Your ram will be fine. Do you need an OS?

The 4690 combined with the 280X can run games like BF4 on ultra @ 1080p at over 60fps.

Do you have an OS? Also yes, another 4gb stick would be good. 8gb is the sweet spot for most applications. Not just gaming.

Will this be able to play GTA5?

Yes I would say at high settings, a solid 60 fps. just buy a duplicate of the same 4gb of ram you already have to make it 8gb.
