Plot twist: GF is secretly AMD and is trying to promote their chips.
Plot twist: Intel is pulling the string
Both Apple and NVidia fully qualify their products on more then one foundries process in case something like this happens.
The worst that can happen at this point is they shift to Samsung (Who GF licenses their current processes from) and there is a nice little pricing cut.
Samsung offsets R&D costs by using their own production unlike TSMC so has the current lowest per plate costs on the market and could use business with all the DRAM production cutbacks.
They also are technically ahead of TSMC in 7nm development being the first to volume EUV production.

This will take years to get do e if it continues. Discovery alone will take years. Then if it actually goes to trial(if it does get that far then GF would have a strong case) that would also take months, even years. The affect of an outcome in favor of GF would not take hold for probably 5 years. These things take a long time.
