So I just got another stick of ram (see here: https://pcpartpicker.com/user/IsaacClark/saved/GnZWD3) and when I checked the bios, it was running at 2133 and not 3000. Does anyone have any idea of what is going on?

Go into the BIOS and enable the XMP (Extreme memory profile) settings.
