I stumbled across Uncle Lucious' Keep the wolves away (good whiskey drinking song) and fell in love. Any songs you've come across lately that have made it into your playlist?
Darude - Sandstorm
DO DO DO DO DO
Rick Astley - Never Gonna Give You Up
Binge listening through CCR's discography. I remember i would play nationstates with fortunate son playing at max volume back in my high school days.
Getting back into some Peep. Listened to him a ton before he died in 2017 but some new stuff is out and its super good.
Right Here ft. Horsehead
G-Eazy has a good new one out. West Coast ft. Blueface, ALLBLACK & YG
STORMZY has a good song out that really showcases how good UK Grime rap is. Vossi Bop
As always, Logic has some bangers out. My favorite recently is: Keanu Reeves
Of course Post is killing is as usual. I like: Wow
I have been a Hopsin fan forever. This new one is amazing: The Old Us
Also loved this one that's recent: You Should've Known
Older one but Juice WRLD has some really emotionally charged songs. This is one of my favorites. Lucid Dreams
I've been listening to the whole album of the valley from whitechapel. Its pretty good.
Cage the Elephant's new album (Social Cues) is pretty good.
This topic somehow gave me a 70s vibe... (with groovin in the topic)
Now i got to break out my vinyl and play 'Play that funky music".
The most recent time I actively chose something it was Del McCoury, I like bluegrass. I hear stuff all day from the radio station in my head, no telling what's gonna' show up. Yesterday it was a song song called "Nice Girls" by Eye to Eye. (that's about '82 or so) Usually I just go with whatever's out there, except for trash-talkin' wannabe gangsta rap stuff, then I'll actively do something to get away from it.
Edit: I find F-word, in all it's variations, offensive, and the user gets immediately downvoted.
MC Hammer, even though I was born well after it became uncool
Damn, I must be getting really old. I was thinking he was still cool.
I did hear some of my favorite teen music on the radio the other day... On the oldies station.
MC Hammer still cool...yeah, not really. A lot of people know his song 'you can't touch this' but other than that no one knows or cares about him
Yeah, I was completely unaware he had other songs until I read your comment.
2 Legit 2 Quit?
Trivium has made their way into my heart. I'm really not a fan of heavier screaming type stuff, but they pulled me in tight. Their new drummer Alex Bent is absolutely a machine.
If you don't already, look up Jared Dines on YouTube. You'd like him.
Yeah I'll watch him every now and then Lol. You ever watch Rabea Massaad? The dude is a fantastic player. He's one of ol' Rob Chapman's cohorts .
Yeah I've watched him a good bit. So good.
You should totally check out some other symphonic metal bands then; even a lot of melodeath/symphodeath/whatever else the kids are calling specific bands' music types these days could probably be tolerated if you like Trivium. Random examples:
Red Dawn Rising by Eternal Tears of Sorrow
Epica (I particularly like The Phantom Agony album)
there's probably about 1000 more I should mention but my brain has ceased cooperating
Some Lyre le Temps. Electro swing music. Real good stuff.
Snails House is my current Favorite artist. i also like shawn wasibi and fusq
I like classical music from the romantic period; Rachmaninoff piano concertos 2 & 3 are favorites.
Lately I've also gotten into Chopin Etude op 25 no 7, it reminds me of Jean Valjean crying after he steals the ten-sous piece from Petit Gervais.
The entirety of the ...And Justice for All album by Metallica has really been hitting the spot for me lately, dunno what it is but it’s really hitting me right now.
