Is there particular importance to be had in getting a new PSU rather than a refurbished? Since I've been told the standard for a used PSU can cause risk for equipment.

I've bought many used or refurbished psu in the past.

The risk is minimal and haven't any of them display any issues yet.

Just get a gtx 1060 6gb at this point.

5% slower but cheaper, have more vram, newer and uses less power.

Yeah but a 980 overclocks harder

Granddy submitter 1 Build 2 points 2 months ago

Cool.

But lets ignore the better traits of the gtx 1060

Yeah like power limits

And did I mention power limits? Let’s not forget the like 5 revisions of the 1060

Also userbenchmark is a bad comparison, I would recommend an actual benchmark to compare performance

Like playing actual games.

Fps between both cards is pretty much margin of error.

Also buying a used 4 year old card over a brand new gtx 1060(or a used 2 year old card) that offers practically the same performance but with a bit more vram, uses less power and cheaper is just silly.
