Why is this video card so valuable?

This one: http://pcpartpicker.com/part/ati-video-card-100505144

Is it a collector's item? Incredibly rare? Desired amongst overclockers?

It's been bugging me for a while now...

Not sure, but that $7 shipping would be a deal-breaker for me.

It's a workstation card... Read the reviews on Newegg and am sure the first is a troll...

The reviews are 7 years old, it may have been good back in the day, but I have trouble believing it can still command such a high price

Firepro cards are not meant for gaming and you can read more about it in this link, http://www.fireprographics.com/ws/solutions/cad/index.asp.

Initial release date ... 2006 ... ATI FireGL V7300 was an extremely powerful card back in the day. It's a workstation card that does well with 3D work and rendering. Not to mention for it's time, that's impressive.

It's still viable to this day as a workstation card and that's why the price tag stayed. Although I expect it to go discontinued everywhere once they run out of stock because there's better options out there now - at that price.

Just seems strange to me that it has not devalued over the seven years since it's release... There must be other options at the 1.2 k price point for workstation cards that work better
