I want to build a Linux office/htpc. I will be using the computer primarily for school work (papers, research, etc) and streaming videos (netflix, amazon) to my TV. So basically I need HDMI and hardware that is compatible with Linux. I don't want to upgrade for a few years, but I am not a heavy computer user, so even something that was super fast a year ago but is ancient now would probably be fine.
I have a few parts lists saved, using AMD, using advice from forums and reading reviews. I am a big fan of quality over price. My budget is $400 for everything except the monitor. (I'd prefer less though).

I think the A10 might be overkill, but I like the idea that it might make the Home Theatre PC experience more enjoyable.
Any help is appreciated.
