Just joined, building my first rig. Need some opinions

So far, I managed to come up with this build. A certified friend of mine hooked me up with a casing and a Geforce GTX 650Ti Superclocked video card. I already bought a 500 gb WD harddrive.

I'm not too sure on the mobo, which brings me here. My budget on the CPU, mobo, ram and power supply is about $350. I generally hope to have something running games well so I can dump the 360.

I swapped out some of the parts to make it a bit more balanced.

Should be able to run most games on fairly respectable graphics settings.

Hope this helps.

This is my suggestion. You don't need an APU. The Athlon X4 is the same but cheaper.

I looked more into each of the parts you guys suggested and I decided on getting the AMD FX6300. Upon further research, it takes up less wattage and has a significant better performance. I'll be getting the MSI FM2 mobo as well, mainly cause it has more memory slots. Thanks guys.

One thing, you're definitely going to want a copy of 64bit Windows. The 32bit version severely limits RAM usage in CPU/RAM intensive programs.

Yea , I figured as much. I just labeled it since its the one I have at this moment.
