$650 FX-6300 / GTX 960 Build

philip

Sept. 26, 2015

We worked with Amazon to put together a budget gaming build centered around the FX-6300. Unfortunately due to issues outside our control we were delayed in getting hold of some of the parts, so this build video came a bit later than we had hoped.

The full part list for this build can be found here.

Yes, but that was the parts list Amazon chose and approved. Also, keep in mind the parts list was chosen much earlier, and prices change quickly.

Better, but also more expensive and lacking in total storage.

Thiers right now - $564. Yours - $653.

Look closer

That $564 price you are looking at is not the "from amazon" price, is missing shipping prices on nearly everything, and doesn't even include the price of the PSU.

Case isn't available from Amazon right now. PSU is apparently not available anywhere so I took the liberty of changing it to a similarly mediocre option.

So the price difference is a whopping $22.

More like $70, since yours does not have a HDD.

Aww man... got all excited about the price... tried it with Canadian sites and the price comes to $1,094 CAD. Which is $809 USD. Lame.

Wow. Judging by all the FUD in the comments above, you guys might want to just stick to Intel builds for these articles from now on.

Our AMD builds do tend to pull very polarized responses, especially on Youtube.

are the FX-83## and FX-63## both better gaming options than, lets say, an i3? I trying to find a reason to not simply buy an i5 for my next build.

The i5 is twice as good as all of them.

I purchased the items on this list for my first build. Waiting for delivery now. I needed a three monitor setup that runs office apps with aplomb. Probably overkill but oh well. Have to say, though, it's disappointing to see so many people ridiculing this build. Despite the AMD haters, this configuration will be a huge step-up from my office-issued ProDesk 400, right?

Should probably read: We worked with Amazon to hawk a bunch of mediocre hardware centered around the FX-6300.

I hope Amazon payed em a bunch of money. ;)
