I did post this the other day, but a couple of the pictures messed up (orientation issues with an iPhone). I sold my previous build for a little profit, and put that towards building a slightly better machine. I've only used AMD so far and was starting to get a little bored, so decided to go for Intel instead.
CPU - I'm happy already with this, just because of how quiet it is in comparison to an 8350. The lower power consumption and heat is definitely noticeable. It should also perform well for what I intend, which is mainly gaming.
CPU Cooler - The standard choice for under £30. It's very quiet when coupled with the Intel i5 (especially when compared with the 8350, which a lot louder even when idle).
Motherboard - Gigabyte have a solid reputation, and this board had some great reviews (and a great price since it was an open box item). It's not going to cope with extreme overclocking, so I won't push it.
Memory - I have always used XMS3 RAM, and it always works well for me. I also like the simple design/colour. Storage - Previously used a Samsung 840, and I can already notice the difference between that and this EVO. 250Gb is plenty of storage space for me.
Video Card - I intended to get an R9 280x, but then Nvidia won me over last minute with their price cuts and 3 free games offer. Benchmarks also show that the 770 is slightly more powerful that the 280x, and should run well once I overclock it slightly.
Case - The 300r is very easy to work with. I purchased this case because I have been using the 200r a lot recently, but fancied a change (though they're not much different, to be honest).
PSU - Found this PSU for a great price, so had to buy it. Slightly overkill for my components, but hey-ho. My only flaw with this is that the CPU power cable is shorter than I'd like (though this could also be down to the 300r's awkward gap for it).
Peripherals were already taken care of, and I recommend each one - Sidewinder X4 keyboard, Roccat Lua mouse, Gamecom 780 7.1 headset and a 23" Acer monitor.
Didn't have any problems with this build. Took me slightly longer than usual because of all the Halloween kids knocking on me door!
