Description

This is actually my first build completed with assistance from a good friend of mine. All in all everything came out great. I haven't had a chance to do benchmarks yet but will gladly let you guys know once I do! The only part I can really complain about at all is the Kraken X62. My gripe is not with the hardware however, it is with the CAM software. What a frustration that is............but we won't really get into that. The cooler itself is very nice however in both performance and is aesthetically pleasing when the lights are working.

Will be posting more updates once I get some more games installed and play with the components a little bit.

Part Reviews

CPU Cooler

Keeps the processor nice and chilly even under a heavy load. As a cooler it does a fantastic job. The CAM software however is a joke. The NZXT customer service in addressing this issue is also miserable as it has been over a year. If they finally turn out functional software this is easily a 5/5 product. COME ON NZXT GET YOUR CUSTOMERS TAKEN CARE OF!

Motherboard

Honestly was skeptical about paying this much for a motherboard to begin with. After doing further reading however, my interest was furthered in this offering. It has tons of features, some of the nicest components available integrated in the board, onboard RGB lighting, an integrated custom water cooling block, on board AC wifi, and a ton more honestly. All of this with a 3 year warranty through the manufacturer. You will not regret this purchase it is a great buy!

Memory

Looks fantastic and is plenty fast! Also comes with a limited lifetime warranty which is also great. Adds a lot to the cool RGB look for any computers doing that as well.

Storage

FAST.... just really ******* fast xD

Video Card

Enough has been said about the 1080 Ti 11G, it's a beast of a card. Aorus's windforce cooling solution seems to be doing a great job so far. I will update more as I play on and do benchmarks

Case

Looks great with great airflow for the components. Killer with the added HD120 fans by Corsair as well. Just a really sexy case. The cable management was challenging but definitely achievable.

Power Supply

Plenty of power delivered efficiently and quietly. Pretty much all there is to say here.

Operating System

DOWNLOAD CLASSIC SHELL TO REMOVE THE ADS! Overall great though working awesome and like the layout of everything but the new start menu.

Case Fan

Looks great with variable speeds. Very sexy in the tempered glass case by Corsair.

Monitor

Really was not sure if I wanted to do the 24" because I was really hung up on the 27" offerings. After getting this in guys I don't doubt my decision. Great color after minor tinkering and USB ports on the actual monitor. A fantastic stand with multiple points of articulation. Very slim bezel and an all black design. Obviously can't leave out the G-Sync and 144Hz refresh (165Hz w/ overclock!!!). Really couldn't be happier!

Keyboard

I got mine with Cherry MX Brown switches and they feel great. Plenty of customization available in the Corsair Cue software and has onboard memory profiles. I also got mine for a steal at less than half of list so I really was happy about this as well. My ONLY ***** is that the RGB lighting could be a tad more vibrant. I have heard there is a gentleman that is making white backs for the keyboard to fit behind the keys to help remedy this issue. We shall see!

Mouse

Great sensor. Onboard memory profiles and tons of options through Corsair Cue. I play FPS games like Battlefield 1 as well as MOBAs like League of Legends so I felt this really was the best all-around choice.

There is no way this PC could possibly handle Minecraft, not even at the lowest settings

But will it run Minesweeper? Lol nice build.

Please don't tell me this PC was designed to run Minecraft. Anyway, amazing build. I might have gone with Ryzen or Radeon RX580, but this is a very nice build.

AMD guy huh? To each his own. They're both great for their respective goals IMO.

Hi,

How is the graphics card reliability/performance up to date ?

But the 580 is a weaker card, Why would you deliberately go with a weaker card if you could change anything about the build? Even Vega 64 is much weaker than the 1080 ti. Also for gaming at least 7700k is faster though ryzen is great for doing editing and stuff along side gaming.

I want to but am not experienced on overclocking at all. I want to overclock the CPU and GPU but want to do more reading before I do that.

This Michael Jordan. Stop it.

How come lately everyone has a 7700k and a 1080 or a 1080ti in their first build. I know that this could kick the crap out of any Mac Pro but still.

A lot of people have less in mind when they plan their build and end up shelling out a lot more because they get into the 'gotta have it all' craze. I know I did. Also people might just have a lot of disposable income and want their first venture into the scene to stand out.

Best reason ever. It is what has made The United States great. The drive to get something that you may not really need but you want.

Hey I have had issues with CAM at first but I fixed it by disabling the Sync Feature! I would do the same and see if the CAM lighting issues you are having stops!

Tell me how to do that please!!! LOL I need this in my life. So frustrating with that CAM software being so dysfunctional.

I get the x62 cooler in on Wednesday. How did you install yours in the 570x? Forgive me as this is my first pc build and new.

I did it as a front mount and removed the included SP 120 RGB fans. I have them as backups in the closet now. Works great keeps everything nice and chilly, as well as sets up a nice push pull for the case flow.

PC looks great, but why no cable management outside of the case?

  • 1 point

The desk that I currently have has no cable management at all unfortunately. It is something that is on my checklist for my next desk. I just love this one because it is tempered glass like the PC so they kind of match. Just my OCD shining on that note though.

Do you know of any good cable management systems for desks like that, that wouldn't require for my desk to NOT be pushed up against the wall. I don't like the desk not touching the wall xD

As far as the cables coming out of the back of the case, all I can really do would be to buy some Velcro straps to bundle the cords.

I play a wide range of games in up to 4k (superimposed just because haha). I also dabble with minor photo and video editing.
