Description

My first 'high-end' build, upgraded from a i5-4590 / GTX1060 rig. Very happy with how it turned out and it performs great with 4K gaming. One more future upgrade will be to get cable extensions to round out the aesthetics. One thing about the case, for ATX mobos, the board goes right up against the PSU shroud so getting all the cables to fit down there is quite a challenge. CPU running at 5.1 ghz with 1.34V (This was my first trial and it was stable, I reckon I could go to a lower voltage). The GPU is stable (For the most part) at 2100 Mhz. Unfortunately the Aorus 2080 wont fit in the vertical GPU mount without suffocating against the glass panel.

Welcome everyone's feedback :)

Where are you keeping it, let me guess, your home?

I'm assuming you ordered them from stores far from home.

Sadly, it will be outdated one day. Dread it, run from it, being outdated arrives all the same.

I assume you are using this for (end)gaming

Did you build that high end rig you were talking about

yes

and what did it cost

everything

SSD: now is not the time to wait for stuff to load, because now is no time at all

that's all I've got. Really hoping you named it Bifrost because you're a marvel fan or this comment won't make any sense. +1

The Bifrost isn't just from Marvel, it's from Norse mythology lol

yes but that's what its best know for, just like if you say Thor most people will think of the marvel character not the mythological god

So true lol. However, majority of hardware can be resold later down the road for the next journey :)

Hey man. I have a similar build with an i7 9700K and the Aorus RTX 2080. I did mount mine vertically and the clearance is tight but my PC is in my basement where it stays pretty cold. Temps are not an issue. You should check it out. Nice build btw!

I am surprised you are able to hold 2100 Mhz on your GPU. Mine always throttles while playing games, so somewhere in the 1900s is the best I can do at typical ambient temps.

I can manually set my GPU to run at close to 2100 Mhz, but it's going to crash in a game at some point in time. And it will certainly downclock in increments, as it approaches it's stable run temp, something over 70C.

Mine recently has been holding at 2077 Mhz But it is a 'A' binned chip. Maybe yours is a 'B' chip unfortunately :(

Ambient is pretty important too, because it declocks pretty readily with temps over 50C or so.

Hi,

How is the graphics card performance and reliability so far? Is it stable and do you play it on daily basis ?

Awesome build! Could you share the photo of the back? I'm curious to see the cable management

Came here to check out that crazy gold RAM, but it actually looks pretty awesome (in the dark). Didn't realise it was RGB.

Wow, that GPU is massive. I was tempted to buy it on sale, but I think I'll wait til next gen.. :P

Nice build!
