I've wanted to build a gaming PC for a number of years and waited and saved until it made sense for me. I finished my first PC build this weekend. The build was a fun and challenging experience.

I like the case a lot. I like the monitor although I wish it had more inputs. The speakers are alright, but not as good as my Sonos stuff.

Oh great! All this time i was focusing on led strips after seeing so many builds but now looking at this build I cannot deny, the subtly delicate led lighting looks very impressive! Back to the drawing board for me!

Nice specs bro - only if i could pocket one of those M.2 SSDs too, that too @ 1TB!!

Hey Hows the temps of the 1080ti? I am planning an identical config but with Ryzen. I am concerned of temps of the 1080ti as I have heard of the bad air flow in S340 elite. Thanks for the reply in Advance.

That's a lot of cash spent on your first build! 2x the cost as mine xd. I really liked the way it looked with the subtle lighting. On top of that, I really like your setup! +1

Hey just a question: Did you have any problems fitting the PowerLink in with the cables? Did it not interfere with the radiator?

I'm curious as to why you went with the 6800k instead of the 7700k, great build either way!

The 6800k is a 6 core 12 thread processor, while the the 7700k is a 4 core 8 thread processor. My best guess would be for productivity type work such as photo and video editing.

I wanted to invest into X99. I was really torn between the 7700k and going X99 though. I think the X99 gives me more long term options possibly. Maybe I'm off here.

Awesome build dude! I plan on building something similar and have some questions. In terms of the "Aer RGB & HUE+ with 2 140mm fans" is the Hue+ really necessary as I thought the "CAM" software can take care of the RGB lighting effects etc? Also on the same topic of those 2 Aer fans, is it detrimental to cooling to put in different fans to the cpu cooler rather than the original which is what I assume you've done as I can see it looks like light is emitting from the front. And lastly, why is the NZXT Internal USB Hub necessary in this build or what does it provide?

I'm not sure if I had to have a Hue+, I ordered it to have options. I assume the AER fans don't hurt cooling of the CPU radiator as I belive they are just RGB versions of the regular fans. I used the internal USB hub to plug in all the internal USB 2 stuff like the kracken, hue+, etc.

Its the lighting, but you could just change out the LEDs inside the cooler if you're into tinkering. I would change it to RGB LEDs and choose whatever color you want. It should just be a simple LED strip behind a diffuser plate

Such a clean build! How have the temps been with the FTW3? I was looking at the same card but I've read some reports about high temps and it being quite loud.

This build is.... interesting. I feel you should drop the 6800k for a 7700k and the x99 for a z270, drop the 850 evo and the power supply and add another 1080ti for 2-way SLI. Also, DROP THE APPLE KEYBOARD FOR A CORSAIR K70!! APPLE KEYBOARDS SUCK!

I wanted X99 for a few reasons. I wanted no SLI headaches or games that don't support it. The 1000 watt PSU is for "future proofing". You're entitled to your opinion.

I've got a nice mechanical keyboard, but it hurts my hands after using it all day. The Apple keyboards don't hurt me. I've tried them both and prefer the Apple keyboard. I use the Apple keyboard wired for what's it worth.

I think it's a personal preference, as long as you've done real testing of both, what's the harm in using what doesn't hurt and you like?

About the future proofing, I've seen plenty of people do this but the thing I don't understand is why you need more power for parts that become more power efficient over time? All the recent GPU's and CPU's are more power efficient than their predecessors so if anything buying a higher watt power supply is anti-future proofing. Even a 750W power supply can comfortably run 2 1080ti's in SLI and a 7700k. 1000 isjust wasting your money.

What about things like adding an internal capture card? It was my choice to eliminate possible future costs most likely. I viewed the 1000 PSU as an investment.

Let's not forget Leon Trotsky was assassinated. This is a wild setup, and it has me jealous. The 1000 PSU is probably unnecessary, especially if you have no intention of doing SLI. But hey, it's a 1000 platinum.....did you need a 1Tb 960 PRO? No, but its wild to have one, same as the 1000 plat. You do you brotha, forget this Marxist troll
