Description

Build went together easisly. It runs very well and is quite cool and quiet.

I have seen a lot of negativity with this case, most based off of basically one review from Gamers Nexus. The top and front panels are not the strongest but they are nowhere near as bad as the reviewer made them out to be. I have never had a panel pop off moving the case.

The reviewer also said that the case had major air flow restrictions and removing the front panel lowered cpu temps by almost 15 degrees. I tested this by running Aida64 Extreme with the front panel on and off. My results were a 3c difference with the cpu, 1c difference with the gpu and zero difference in VRM temps. The tests were done with real world usage in mind. Fan settings were set they way they are for everyday use. I think my results show that I don't need to modify my case by adding mesh to the front or top.

This is a lovely build with great parts. Also interesting about your temps when comparing yours and Gamer Nexus' experiences. Usually why I take reviews with a grain of salt since some people may have different results and depending on the environment between choice of parts.

Again, well done with this build! It's a beauty. +1

GJ making a very clean and good looking build, that still has a very high performance! Also nice overclock. Overall great build. :)

Wish I could give it a +2

Looks great! Any issues getting the graphics card to fit? I want this same board but some reviews say the 1080 ti doesn't fit because it runs into the amp-up audio cover.

jamez74 submitter 9 Builds 1 point 2 months ago

Thanks. No issues, it does look like it is right against it though.

Laethageal 1 Build 1 point 1 month ago

I've got the exact same board on my new build.

Getting a 1080 ti Seahawk (with solid backplate) in the top slot was no trouble, but getting the 2nd to click in for the SLI was slightly trickier. It wasn't actually the amp-up cover getting in the way, but the Sata cover putting a small pressure on the backplate. It was minor enough to fit in with a little pressure. Cover would be better with 0.5mm thinner.

Nice build. Just curious on the test you did, did you take both the front and top panels off? I'm pretty sure GN did their test with an air cooler so the biggest restriction would be the front panel and the top panel wouldn't have much impact. But in your situation with the radiator up top, I'd think the top panel would be the main restriction. Also possible that with the big AIO, it's getting enough airflow to do its job ~shrug~

jamez74 submitter 9 Builds 1 point 2 months ago

I only removed the front. The same as they did. When I ran AIDA64 I had it run the gpu stress test as well to try and heat the case up as much as possible

drekavac6 1 point 2 months ago

Ah thanks for the response- Shoot me a comment if you retest with the top off - super curious about airflow with radiators on this guy

Aelar_Nailo 1 point 2 months ago

Strange that GN had such different results form yours... But I ain't complaining! That is one sexy atx build! Would never want something that big myself, but mucho rgb!

Beautiful setup. A remarkable build.

+1

I also have that world map mouse mat but can I also mention that I noticed your mouse pad sitting on top of another mouse pad?

jamez74 submitter 9 Builds 1 point 2 months ago

Yeah the big one is to cover all the scratches in my desk lol

whats that blue thing on the far left

jamez74 submitter 9 Builds 1 point 2 months ago

It’s a funky lamp with a rgb base

fastcjgt3 1 point 2 months ago

I have a question on when you overclock does the boost clock get eliminated, stay the same, or has the same additional 1 GHZ boost?

jamez74 submitter 9 Builds 1 point 2 months ago

The turbo functions get turned off

Thanks!

Nicely Done! Clean & Neat build. +1!

*You should get that beast of a graphics card some kind of discreet support to prevent it from further sagging in the future.

+1 for the name.

How do you like the H115i? I'm trying to choose between that and the kraken x62. You happy with the temps and performance? Thank you!

jamez74 submitter 9 Builds 2 points 2 months ago

I am happy with it, haven't had any issues.

CSGOmustang 1 point 2 months ago

Thank you!! I’m leaning towards the h115i now. I want to avoid all of those issues on the NZXT c62. You heard anything about the cryorig A80? You wouldn’t happen to have a recommendation for a full tower great air flow Pc case would you? I would basically love the meshify C case in a full tower version.

jamez74 submitter 9 Builds 1 point 2 months ago

I was looking for a full tower before I got this but I just couldn't find the right one. My last one was the CM Storm Trooper. It was a great case but is showing its age quite a bit now.

Nice build!

dulal18 1 Build 1 point 2 months ago

Awesome, I will receive the case on Friday and was super worried about the airflow and quality of the case, but your build and temperature definitely boosted my confidence, beautiful build btw.

jamez74 submitter 9 Builds 2 points 2 months ago

Thanks. I like the case. I don't have any issues with it. The top and front do open easily but I am pretty sure that is by design. It shows right on the box not to pick it up by the front or the top. I am using an AIO maybe that helps with the temps? I hope you like it.

dulal18 1 Build 1 point 1 month ago

Thank you, I decided to go with the H500P after all and replaced the fans as you have done, I sure love the 140mm look more than the giant 200mm fans. I replaced them with new corsair ll140s, they look amazing.

shabashaly 1 point 1 month ago

As far as the gamer nexus review goes your testing methology is obviously different which is why you had a different result. Given that you are using a top mounted AIO I wouldnt expect there to be as big of a difference compared to an air cooler. Also i doubt you are measuring ambient temps.

But in any case it is a solid looking build congrats.

I see that you bought three case fans for this build (on top of getting the corsair h1151 cooler that comes with 2 fans)

I have this same case and love your RGB setup, can you clarify this for me...

In product description it says you got 3 RGB fans but I only see two up top and they look like the CPU cooler? Can you explain this to me because I only see the 2 fans that come in the front (200mmx2) and the one at the back of the coolermaster h500p, and the two CPU cooler fans up top. Where are the three RGB fans located at?

jamez74 submitter 9 Builds 1 point 1 month ago

2 of them are on the cooler and one is the rear exhaust fan. I replaced the loud stock cooler fans.

ABlueL4n 1 point 1 month ago

How's the RAM compatibility with that motherboard? Is the XMP successful? (I plan on using the CMR16GX4M2C3200C16W ModuleP/N) I read from the Corsair support that they would be working on the comparability with the Z370 mobos.

jamez74 submitter 9 Builds 2 points 1 month ago

I haven't had any issues with it. The XMP worked fine.

Neomatter 1 point 1 month ago

Hey I have a question. How are you able to adjust the color of the 200mm fans? I can't figure out how to, RGB fusion doesn't seem to give me an option, and they just continue to blink red, blue, green.

TNogueira 0 points 29 days ago

Nice build. But i dont think you realize how the GN test was done, it was a 6700k non delid and with a air cooler, you are saying that you only notice a difference of 3ºc but you have a AiO and a delid 8700k
