Description

This is my original build back from high school in 2013. The only original parts that remain are the motherboard and RAM. This is what I upgraded throughout the years:

-CPU: i3-3210 -> i5-3470S -> i7-3770 -CPU Cooler: Intel stock cooler -> Cryorig C7 -> Corsair H100i V2 -Storage: WD Green 500 GB HDD -> Samsung EVO 850 SSD 500 GB -Video Card: Nvidia GTX 650 -> GTX 750 -> GTX 960 -> GTX 1060 -> GTX 1070 Ti -Case: Cooler Master HAF 912 -> Corsair Carbide 200R -> NZXT S340 -Power Supply: Corsair TX550M -> Corsair RM 750i -OS: Windows 8 -> Windows 10 -Monitor: Asus VS228H -> Asus MX279H -> LG UD2458 -> Asus VG245H

As far as upgrading, I honestly do not have a reason to. I am not against upgrading, but my system plays all my games at the high-very high graphics setting at 1080p locked at 75 FPS. I think my CPU and GPU upgrades helped throughout the years. We will see.

What desk is that? Looks awesome!

Raz0r 3 points 7 days ago

I was curious about just the same thing. The drawer looks alot like something that'd come from IKEA, thus I checked their site.

It's called an ALEX Desk... I knew the drawer from my ALEX Drawers... :)

Thanks! It is an Alex desk from IKEA. If you do purchase it, make sure to use a hole-saw to drill a hole. The last picture should show you what I am talking about.

list says EVGA graphics card but pictures shows ASUS?

Zuby300 submitter 1 Build 1 point 7 days ago

My bad! Both the Asus and the EVGA are GTX 1070 Ti, I remember I gave the Asus to my brother. Pictures updated to reflect it.

Is that keyboard custom painted?

SteelDragon2002 2 points 7 days ago

It’s vinyl wrap

Zuby300 submitter 1 Build 1 point 7 days ago

It's a white vinyl wrap.

Where did you get the custom cables

Zuby300 submitter 1 Build 1 point 7 days ago

Those are cable extensions from Phanteks I purchased from Amazon.

Get a mouse pad, and more than 2 pictures, then maybe you can have my upvote..

Zuby300 submitter 1 Build 1 point 7 days ago

Gotcha! Pictures updated, back-plate on order.

desk?

Zuby300 submitter 1 Build 1 point 7 days ago

IKEA Alex. If you do get it, make sure to use a hole-saw to drill a hole. I've provided a picture at the very end to show it.

Very clean setup, love the 3770. Great build!

OrbitalBuzzsaw 1 Build 1 point 7 days ago

Very nice clean build! Might want to consider a Ryzen 5-flavored upgrade soon as 4c/8t at 3.x GhZ is a bit lackluster for such a powerful GPU.

Zuby300 submitter 1 Build 1 point 7 days ago

Thank you! Definitely man! The only thing is that my current setup is playing all my games fine at a minimum of high settings locked @ 75 FPS. Forza Motorsport 7, Sims 4, Skyrim SE, Rise of the Tomb Raider sometimes dips into the 60's but not too bad. We'll see with the upcoming AAA releases.

alexsack 1 Build 1 point 7 days ago

dude this cleannnnn i love it +1

Zuby300 submitter 1 Build 2 points 7 days ago

Thank you! Took me a few years to get it how I want. Can't say I'm done cause it's addicting lol, but it's pretty close to where I want it to be.

Claws4gaming 1 point 7 days ago

Really nice setup.

Zuby300 submitter 1 Build 1 point 7 days ago

Appreciate it man!

ooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

iWasDjWtf 1 point 7 days ago

Isnt 24 inch monitor abit too small ?

Zuby300 submitter 1 Build 1 point 6 days ago

It's fine for me, but it comes down to personal preference.

Battlefield 1 point 7 days ago

Your upgrades reminds me of my prior upgrade path. I did similar until I moved to a new CPU/mobo/DDR4 platform and sold the old build.

Zuby300 submitter 1 Build 1 point 6 days ago

Yeah, I'm holding out as long as possible. I honestly see no reason. I made all the aesthetic upgrades I wanted to. White GPU backplate on order.

Battlefield 1 point 6 days ago

Had I bought the 3770k instead of 2500k I too would have put off the upgrade. But after 5yrs I thought what the heck..

Zuby300 submitter 1 Build 1 point 6 days ago

I agree, 5 years is very reasonable!

Battlefield 1 point 6 days ago

I was stoked and couldn't wait and got the 7700k. Then 4months later they announce 8700k. wtf.

9manny99 4 Builds 1 point 6 days ago

Love this build!

Zuby300 submitter 1 Build 2 points 6 days ago

Thank you!

Jamlons 1 point 3 days ago

Just a tip, your neck must get sore from the monitor being that high. Best position for your neck is top of monitor at eye level, but each to their own!

But clean build! +1

Zuby300 submitter 1 Build 1 point 2 days ago

My neck doesn't hurt but preventative care is always good! I've lowered the height on it. Thanks for your comment!
