Description

Brought an i5-8400 but looking to upgrade in the future, hence the Z370 motherboard. I am a huge fan of Daredevil so that is what I based my PC build on, going with the red and black theme throughout! The Phanteks P350x was a great case to build in and I had no issues at all with cable management. The GPU is an absolute beast that I got on a really good deal! I have no issues running games. Currently I use a 144hz 1080p monitor, but I am looking to upgrade in the future to a 1440p 144hz monitor.

Love your build! But how about you take the daredevil theme one-step farther? (Don't plug in a monitor)

Thanks, will do. As it is only a i5-8400, the stock cooler did it's job but takes away from the aesthetic of the rest of the build. :)

It looks good, man . . . I was actually thinking how clean it looked even with the stock cooler. Don't trip on these peeps -- no matter what you do someone is going to hate on something. My most recent build someone was talking smack because I put an aftermarket cooler on a locked CPU . . . you can never win on the internet ;)

Long as you're happy that's all that matters. Looks sick -- keep it up!

Thanks! Means a lot coming from someone as talented as you. Love the Kermit build by the way, I would love to be able to customise that well!

Yup. You can also get a very good cpu liquid cooler for your money buy Deepcool for $60 - $80 and it comes in black rgb or black and red.

how was the phanteks p350x to build in??

really good, lots of space but is also compact at the same time and doesn't take up a load of room on my desk!

exaactly what I wanted to hear, thanks so much. I needed a reference for my brother because he wants to build a pc soon, and this case is something i recommended to him.

I was looking for the exact same things. especially the compact part, which can be hard to find with ATX cases

You don't need a better CPU cooler. Funko Pop Daredevil brings all the cool you need and more.

You should probably flip your top fans to exhaust......just sayin

would that do anything for my temps? because at the minute, my temps are great. like, will it be a noticeable difference?

  • 1 point

Right now you are pushing in way more air than you are expelling. I could see your temps decreasing because you will be getting rid of some stagnant air.

First glance thought it was a Deadpool build, but I'm only half blind.

Cool pc build. Wish it had a good looking CPU cooler, but still cool.

Thumbs up.

Friends don't let Friends run Stock Coolers....

If you need to find something that will match you build, just let know and I'll dig up a few options.

Thanks for Sharing !!

How does your psu work with the 1080? Was gonna go with a 1070 and don’t want to fork out the extra cash for a 750w psu.

  • 1 point

Absolutely fine. Using a power calculator from Cooler Master, my system only draws out 490W max, so it is more than enough seeing as it is a locked CPU.

Did you get another cooler? I have the same CPU and case. Got two intake fans in the front and a rear exhaust. I bought the cryorig m9i which was fairly cheap. Temps are about 29 idle and 45 when gaming and the rig is very quiet. Theres room for a red sticker on the cryorig too :) Nice build. The case it quite under rated it seems. But it's got a bit of everything and the ideal size for me.

Guys you all are complaining about the stock cooler, but yet nobody notices that he only as 125 gb ram, thats pathetic, great build otherwise but a 1080 is overkill for a i5, watercooling is only important for overclocking, i would have bought a 1070 and bought a 250 gb ssd and a 1 tb hdd, decent build otherwise

  • 1 point

I didn't include all my parts on my list, I have a 1TB HDD in my PC. I also wish I had 125gb RAM, i think you mean the SSD. I went with these parts so that I wouldn't need to upgrade for a while. The i5-8400 is more than capable of dealing with the GTX 1080, there is no bottleneck, and if needed, I can upgrade the CPU at a later date.

  • 1 point

Yeah I was wondering if 125 gen of ram was a typo because no way is that pathetic

  • 1 point

Oops i meant storage, my bad

  • 1 point

Yeah seems like a great build, i was just worried about the 125 gb storage but as long as you have a HDD thats great
