It's been about 2 years since I've owned a pc, so over the past 2 months I've been getting parts to put towards a new build.
Some parts were bought as gifts RAM, Motherboard(which WD Green drive came with) and the rest I bought myself, besides the HDD which was from my previous build.
Case is very roomy, and cable management was very straight forward. M.2 drives are blazing fast. Took less than 10 mins to load a fresh install of Windows, and from pressing the 'On' button to Desktop (usable) is approximately 10 secs.
CPU is great, runs 5.1 Ghz on all cores at 1.42 volts and averaged just under 70c under stress testing, with max temps of 78c. This was with minimal tweaking, so I'm sure I can get the voltage and temps down with a bit more tweaking. Fan speeds were barely audible under load as well.
I'm really happy with my decision, and glad I didn't wait around for Ryzen 2. I'm still waiting to buy a new GPU, either a RTX 2070 or a RTX 2080, although I should be getting one in the upcoming days.
I'll upload some more pics once I've bought the GPU.
Well, I've bought the GPU.
Opted for the Evga RTX 2070 XC Ultra. It cost approximately £450.00 through discount from work, and it runs great. Close to 2Ghz out of the box and barely topped 60c under load.
Firestrike score as seen in picture was from minimal tweaking, so there's room to improve upon that as well.
All in all very happy. Thanks for reading :)
