Description

Clean and simple air cooled build in a Black EVOLV-X with a TRON LEGACY color scheme & lighting. Runs very smooth and silent. Looking for a good TRON figurine or ornament to tuck away inside the enclosure. This case has been Glorious to work it. Very happy with how it turned out. I've got the Phanteks HALO LUX on my rear fan. And magnetic LED strip on the inner-top of case all controlled by ASUS AURA SYNC. Using Starry Night lightning theme.

Tower budget $1400+

Nice build and theme. I'm a big fan of Tron too. It took a lot of research to figure out how to match the CPU fan led with aura. Great prices on CPU and GPU. Rock bottom for sure.

You should try to find (or DIY) an RGB data disk and mount it to the front

I KNOW RIGHT!! I looked all over for a glass or translucent plastic figure I could use. Their is enough lighting in case that would make it glow anyhow. If you find anything please link.

You could try this:

If you're halfway competent with a soldering iron, you might even be able to wire it so that it takes power from a SATA or molex connector, so it lights up with your PC

Do note that while it says "rare," there are two listings from a Chinese account selling them for $16-$18. So if you're willing to risk getting a bootleg (which in this case might actually be nice), you could try that as well

oh wow. Thank you! this will make an awesome addition to the build. must find a way to fit it inside the build. and to get power from inside the build. might go with Chinese one since even originals were only $13 on Target when released.

Can't seem to find the chinese ones you mentioned. Just the $180.00+. If you see them again please share the link.

One of these

I'd take it apart and paint it with something nice, maybe change out the LEDs, and wire it to Molex or SATA like I suggested earlier. Either way, your only out $16 and some change

Edit: This also isn't the original listing I found, it says this one ships from the US. So, bonus?

Which one of these is actually your build, because you have two....One vertically mounted gpu and one normally mounted.

Before and after shots. Had to wait on the Riser Cable to do vertical.

That's great, I have the exact same color combo on my Wraith Prism too. +1

You must have all the wires of your Wraith Prism connected. I didn't bother connected the USB connector that allow me to control the outer ring. So mine just cycles through rainbow colors slowly. Since I wasn't able to sync it with my Aura sync anyhow I just left it do its own thing.

The Trident Z memory kits are working just fine? Reason I ask is that the Flare X memory kit is the one being touted as the go-to for Ryzen.

RYZEN Loved its high speed ram. So the 32GB of Gskill at 3200 speed works great

Do you have any clearance issues with the networking card and the vertically mounted GPU?

It fit quite perfectly. Just the right amount of room.

great build! Where did you find the vertical GPU mount?!

  • 1 point

The mount itself is actually integrated into the Evolv X Case. All you need it a riser cable and done. If your looking for a good vertical GPU Mount, look at CableMod, they have an awesome one.

No I was in need of the bracket. I didn't know it came with the case. Any suggestions for a riser cable? Never worked with a vertical GPU. Thanks!
