Description

Updated with pics of the post-cable management setup + new monitor, speakers, other accessories, and slightly tweaked color scheme (white + purple now).

When I started putting this part list together, the goal wasn't to actually go through with building the computer, but rather to put together a list of parts comprising an all white aesthetic. Along the way I started slotting in some parts I'd always wanted to try that didn't necessarily fit the build theme perfectly (the noctua fans for instance over the existing white R6 fans; though I did manage to get closer with the chromax than the classic brown!) and some that were just down right ridiculous (looking at you Trident Z Royal).

By the end of putting the list together, it quickly went from a "for-fun list" to a "I need to sell my existing computer so I can build this" sort of deal.

A month or two later, here she is...

Definitely one of the few builds were the G. Skill Royal RAM looks good! Awesome build! :)

Thanks! Was on the fence about them before the build but I was happy with the final result.

I have a soft spot for white builds, though I haven't seen many with a 9900X or 64GB of such expensive memory. That isn't hate though, more like jealousy since I would definitely want to do that if I could. :)

Good luck on finishing your desk setup and any sort of cable management you may have left at the moment. I love seeing a quality PC build accompanied by a quality setup. Is there any particular reason why you only have the two monitors side by side? Perhaps a space constraint?

+1 :D

Thanks a bunch! I went with the white because I thought it would be very clean.

I have all the cable management supplies sitting off to the side of my desk currently, but I'm waiting til the CRG9 comes out (hopefully later this month or early May) to just take care of it all at once.

The story of these two monitors... They are a pair of ASUS VG248QE 24" monitors. I bought one of them back in 2013 when I built my first computer (unfortunately this one ended up having a dead pixel but I didn't notice it until it was far too late). Then in 2014 I decided to buy a second one because just one wasn't cutting it. Since then, they've sorta done the job and I haven't been able to convince myself to pony up the money to go to 1440p or 4K for the full setup, at least until now. My old computer has become a headless steam/VR machine in my living room, so these two monitors will be put on a mobile desk or something (to be wheeled out of the VR space when it's time to play) for use when I work from home when I finally get that super ultra wide.

That sounds like a great plan! I sincerely support to transition to any variety of ultra-wide. I couldn't afford Samsung's 1080p Super Ultra-Wide when it first launched so I stuck with a budget panel for the time being. Still 21:9, but no where near as impressive... Now you may have better luck since more companies like Dell, ASUS and LG are coming to market with the same panels as the original Samsung panel.

But either way, that is quite the story and I'm sorry to hear about the dead pixels :( They can be undetected until months after you start using a monitor as a daily driver.

I'll definitely update the build with pics once the cables are properly routed and the new monitor is in its rightful home.

I'm thinking about putting up a couple completed builds for my computer from which I upgraded and my original computer that ended up being a gift to my parents to replace their 64 GB HDD, 1 GB of RAM Windows Vista machine a few years back... what a time to be alive

I'm usually not the biggest fan of white builds, but you sir have changed my opinions. This puts so many builds to shame and has risen to the top of my favorite list. Awesome build. I know you'll get your share of enjoyment out of it. :)

why does no one use the msi artic motherboard for these builds

I’ve just always used ASUS boards and liked the (gimmicky, I’ll give ya that) LED screen in the middle of the board. But the MSI board would have been an awesome choice too; it’s beautiful.

But in all seriousness, this was really just a case of coming into some money at the wrong time (at the same time as me making an all white- er, mostly white- component part list on here lol
