My first ever build I did on my own. All the parts purchased for $0 are parts I reused from my original PC which I had built for me (shameful, I know). The PSU isn't listed on PCPP, it's a Cooler Master Exteme 2 625w.

I would call it an upgrade but I pretty much had to rebuild the whole thing so I'm posting it as a build. It booted on the first try and I installed windows with no issues. Then it crashed... This is why I replaced my ram in the first place. Turns out my ram won't run stable at the 1600mhz profile it's supposed to. I'm scared to tinker too much so I just set it to the 1333mhz profile and called it a day. Oh well, I'll be replacing it eventually when I save up to upgrade CPU.

Other than that it's been amazing. Blazing fast and handles ultra graphics on Overwatch at 100+ fps without breaking a sweat. Divinity Original Sin II at ultra 80+ fps. Civ VI performance is a little iffy, I blame the old cpu.

Part Reviews

Very fast, it still holds up pretty well in 2018.

Ugly brown mobo. After 3 years it became faulty and won't run memory at the speeds it's supposed to.

This is my first SSD. It's as amazing as everyone says. Crazy fast and reliable. Windows boots in like 3-5 seconds.

No issues after 4 years now.

Video Card

The card itself is a beast. Handles all games at ultra without issue. The cooling is amazing and completely silent. The fans stay off until they're needed. I was only a little disappointed in the rgb lighting. The bottom lights around the fan are just red LEDs, not rgb. The MSi logo on the side is the only rgb. It looks fine but has very limited options with the mystic light software. There isn't even an option to have it cycle through the colour spectrum, the closest option is to have it breath in and out through the spectrum.

This case is beautiful, I love it. Building and cable management was easy and enjoyable. The price is unbeatable by any other brand.

Case Fan

Great price and great performance. Quiet and effective. The gray is a little ugly but I can't see them anyways so it doesn't bother me.

Overall a pretty good monitor.

Pros: The colours look great and it's nice and bright. It overclocks to 75hz with no issues (the colours change a bit but all you have to do is change the monitor settings to get it right again). If you're using HDMI remember to change it to the full rgb range (0-255).

Cons: Black is more like dark blue, and there's some pretty bad backlight bleeding along the edges.

Love this mouse! Super low price but high quality. I'm a big fan of the small minimalist design without the ridiculous "gaming" look, and the rgb is beautiful.

Absolutely terrible headset. Get ready for my essay:

Horribly uncomfortable, flimsy design, and worst of all BEEP BEEP the battery BEEP BEEP life is horrible and the brilliant BEEP BEEP designers at Razer BEEP BEEP decided that the headphones should play an obnoxious and loud BEEP BEEP whenever the battery is low or BEEP BEEP the connection is spotty (Which happens a lot by the way, even while I'm sitting directly next to my PC). The battery life is so short they may as well be wired headphones because the annoying usb charging cable is always plugged in. The usb cable is asymmetrical micro usb so it's annoying and almost impossible to plug in while wearing the headphones.

Not to mention that razer synapse is a garbage program and sound driver. I decided to uninstall it one day and all my friends were asking me if I got a new mic because the windows sound driver sounded so much better. The rgb can't be controlled without synapse, and is still glitchy and unresponsive when you do try and change it. Synapse also causes issues with other programs and games and is pretty much the go to uninstall to fix a problem.

Do yourself a favour and buy literally anything else.

Nice build! I have the same case but the stock fan doesn't seem noisy tho.

I took a second look and I figured out why the stock fan was noisy. It's a 3 pin non PWM fan but I had it set as a PWM fan in the BIOS. I changed it to DC and the fan immediately turned down and is much quieter now. I'll change my review.

Lol, you sir reminded me, that I still have to test my other PC (Optiplex 3020 that was free) with my 1060 6GB. I have a older i5-4590 SFF that I gave my brother.

Also LOVELY Case!
